Back from vacation, once the summer heat, it's time for cleaning and tidying.

Whatever the technique of cultivation hygiene is always important.
In hydroponic systems special attention should be paid to the nutrient solution, which must be replaced regularly to avoid accumulation of salts, dirt and pathogens. Normally the discharge should be done about every two weeks, three if you work with reverse osmosis water, one in the case of brackish water.
The intense heat may necessitate more frequent replacement parts.
The emptying of the system can be difficult, usually taking place under these schemes:
-The tube that leads from the pump to the irrigation system is equipped with a valve in line with the ability to divert the flow toward a third exhaust pipe.
-The tank has a slope on the bottom at the end of which there is an exhaust valve. Opening the valve the water flows through the force of gravity.
-Use of a "bilge pump", practical and light can be immersed in the tank at the time of need by connecting it to a pipe prepared for unloading. Unfortunately this type of pumps always leave a stagnation of about one centimeter on the bottom, but can be used in association with the previous method.

This lighting technology can be very advantageous for terrariums: efficient, low energy consumption, little heat and last much.
How do they work?
Each plant pigment absorbs certain colors of light better than others. Chlorophyll absorbs red light very well and the blue, but not the green as the plants use chlorophyll for photosynthesis, the process is more efficient with red and blue light than with the equivalent of green light.
The classic growth lamps (HID, incandescent, fluorescent), used for indoor cultivation, producing a light with a wavelength of 380 nm (UV) to about 880 nm (infrared lamps).

Its unique composition makes it suitable for the absorption of CO2 and greenhouse gases, which are literally extracted from the atmosphere and clamped in a stable manner.
The captured CO2 is retained, helping to make Biochar a nutrient substrate that reduces fertilizer requirements, improves the yield of the soil and makes it more efficient traditional crops.
In summary, the Biochar increases crop yields, improve soil quality and reduces the environmental impact of agriculture.
