Hydroponics on the balcony (part two)

Urban Dead
This is the phrase that some have suggested seeing changes in my garden a few days ago. URBAN GARDENS instead say about this book and loudly with the results at hand.
Here we are at the third week of work with today are the two times I've fed my plants and the results begin, at least in part, to be seen. Eight vigorous plants are driving it all the other plants to success: some are left behind, probably because of the difficulty of entering into direct contact with water, but expectations remain high and are having good quality of results.
Undoubtedly, some plants are showing their whole force at the expense of less fortunate neighbors (the photo does not leave any doubts in this regard), but in principle, 80% of the work is moving in the right direction.
For the first time this morning I started first with a mild, non-destructive and I hope, before the leaves yellowed and tired potature well that you see in the photos published here. Well the job of feeding water: a weekly cleaning of the tank accompanied by the continuous workings oxygenator are providing proper nutrition to the plants without problems now adduced feared at the beginning of this project involving the possible mold created from moisture .. it's no sing of victory, but for now the work goes to the best.
Unbelievable that the usefulness of the framework has not only distanced himself from the obvious risks of wind on a balcony of the house, but made possible the strengthening of the plants, especially tomatoes, which are growing wonderfully abundant outclassing the same zucchini that are still pace.
Separate discussion instead of strawberries that, too heavy for the size of the vessels themselves are suffering at the time of the resettlement in a strong danger of withering. But on this last topic I reserve one more week to better estimate. Overall, however, remains a project POSITIVE that increased awareness and writer, and hopefully the reader, a topic further and further away from our daily lives despite the vital importance of the same.
Almost one third, that some read as a defeat as a victory for others continues to live and to breathe fresh life into my project and this section. A third of the seedlings that started 6 weeks ago continues to grow, giving birth to large nice tomatoes and zucchini and vain. Continuing with what has become a rite of Monday morning (it is on this date that I change the water tank by adding fertilizers)'m glimpsing the miracle of life of mother nature.
See their plants grow in what until a few weeks ago it was a lost bet at the start, at least this was the opinion of many critics to my project, it gives great satisfaction. Knowing that the strawberries that had appeared was eaten in secret by her mother and know that the taste was not at all watery (which I believed in hydro inevitable) and that was very sweet indeed .. good ... priceless! Certainly not just roses, I lost about 20 plants because of failure to reach the roots with the water below, but I must stress, this is all due to my severe lack.
Due to an incorrect delivery because I had to use jars of common and not those of hydroponics, you can easily imagine almost impossible for plants to reach the water (*). By now I was in the game and decided to go ahead even if without the right material for the next round but I will not make the same mistake at the end infima.Si condemning so many plants, as you read it I decided that this experiment will go on seeing the good results of this first attempt, but not distraiamoci continue to follow this cycle that is still far from completed even if those zucchini flowers on the windowsill are a great value .. For about three weeks * I'm eating zucchini flowers in batter (a real treat), zucchini complete with real facts or omelet pan and look mouth-watering tomatoes. By the way, able to count them in the image at the bottom right? The results are there, clear and sharp enough to leave positive attoniti.Il taste of the products is good and natural taste of water without any hypothetical ignaramente as we had imagined, the work on the plants does not take more than 5/10 minutes a day and see grow this small paradise in front of the balcony, I paraphrase the famous advertising is priceless!
In addition, an element that I had not counted, not having transport with time on the freshness of these vegetables can not be compared are captured by the plant ... a few minutes before being consumed.
Obviously not everything went well, and like any experiment, we propose to improve more and more learning from our mistakes. The pots were too small and the wrong of our pipe is not allowed the plants to grow peacefully, only 1/3, although great, has matured and low confidence in the project had led us to underestimate the power plant (see the large picture at the bottom, the slope of the scaffold is due to the weight of the tomatoes).
